Get to know me...

1. What’s your favourite place on earth? In nature, I love hearing the wind in the trees and the birds, I don’t have any one favourite place.

2. What’s the best show on TV right now? It isn’t on currently but my favourite is Call the midwife.

3. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? My husband would probably answer this for me by saying a jacket potato! I would probably agree with him, although I would enjoy it more if it had grated cheese and salad with it.

4. What’s the best thing you’ve read in the last five years? Wild by Cheryl Strayed, and it probably the book that has had the most impact on me, and is the book I recommend everytime.

5. If you could only bring three things with you on a deserted island, what would you pick? A photo of my husband and children, a book, and drinking water.

6. What is your favourite movie of all time? This is tricky it is between Dirty Dancing and The Fast and The Furious.

7. What is the best concert you have ever been to? The concerts that stick in my mind are Meatloaf and Take That.

8. Would you rather be hot or cold? I would much rather be hot. It is easier to cool down than warm up.

9. What’s your favourite genre of music? I like a wide range of music from Classical to soft rock to dance to folk. I would probably go down the middle and go with easy listening.

10. What is on your bucket list? Many things.. Go to Canada, visit Niagara falls, the Rocky Mountain’s, go to Australia, maybe I should change it to visit more places in the world. Learn to play the Saxophone.

11. What are you most thankful for? My husband and children, and having a home.

12. What are you most afraid of? Those that know me really well will know there are a couple of things that I am afraid of but what I am afraid of the most is birds!

13. How do you like to spend your free time? Reading, being outside, listening to music, visiting cafés.

14. What’s a skill you’ve always wanted to learn and why? I have always fancied learning to play the Saxophone so I can learn to play Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty.

15. What was the best decade for music? The 1980s, although other eras produced some good music too.

16. Are you a dog person or a cat person and why? I am an animal person, although if you are making me choose I would pick a dog, they are more loyal and you can do more with a dog.

17. If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and what would you want to discuss? I would have a dinner party with a variety of historical figures not just one. Rosa Parks, Freddie Mercury, Queen Elizabeth II, and I would want to know what made them tick, I would ask about them, and if they feel society has made any progress.

18. What’s your favourite family tradition? On Christmas eve, my husband, children and myself have a buffet tea instead of a cooked meal. The kids look forward to it. Something my husband and myself started the first Christmas we were together.

19. How do you show your family you love them? I give my husband and children plenty of cuddles, kisses and tell them I love them several times a day.

20. Would you rather go back in time to meet your ancestors, or travel into the future to meet your descendants? My ancestors.

21. How did your parents (and/or grandparents) meet? My grandad was out on a bike ride with a friend who happened to be my grandma’s cousin, they stopped at my grandma’s house for a drink, she was 15. She thought he was a bit of “alright”, they courted for about 5 years before marrying when she was 20.

22. What activities did you love to do with your family growing up? Going to my dad’s allotment as he had animals as well as grew vegetables, going to several different agricultural shows each year, as well as helping my grandad in his shop.

23. Do you consider yourself competitive? Yes I can be very competitive both against others and within myself.

24. What makes you feel at peace? Being outside in nature and listening to the quite and to the natural world

25. Would you rather drive or be the passenger in a car? I don’t mind I am happy to drive but also equally happy to be a passenger.

26. Are you a planner or do you go with the flow? Somethings I like to plan for but I am also happy to go with the flow. If Someone said have we to do x/y/z and I have no other plans, then I am all good to go!
